Electric Car Charging at Redbud House February 20 2017
We've recently installed electric car charging stations here at Redbud House. Whether you're cruising through the area on a Tesla vacation, or zipping around locally in a Nissan Leaf, you're welcome to stop by and charge up for free with the Level 2 charging ports. Plenty of things to walk around and do for fun while you're waiting. Come and see how pleasant New Oxford can be!
Gingerbread House December 14 2016
This December we were happy to build a gingerbread house as part of a fundraiser for the Adams County Arts Council.
Fun little house in the forest with a family of ginger folk.
Butterscotch candies make fantastic windows for the interior lighting.
The trees look good enough to eat.
And if you have trouble piping in a straight line, just go for woodgrain!
Guess the Pumpkin October 25 2016
Some of you may have seen this before, but we had so much fun with it that we keep pulling out the photos every year. How much does this pumpkin weigh?
Guesses were all over the place, some ranging well over 200 pounds. Must really be an impressive pumpkin!
Then we offered the second photo to let everyone in on the joke. The winning weight was about 7.5 pounds, and the contest winner was happy to take home her prize pumpkin.
What can you do with a block of Caramel? October 19 2016
So you have a big block of caramel and you're wondering what to do with it. Lots of caramel covered apples?
Not a bad thought, but here are a few nice dessert ideas from Annie B's, a source of caramels and candies near Minneapolis, MN. And of course, we have their caramel blocks right here in the store. The links will take you straight to the recipes on the Annie B's blog.

Dreamfarm August 10 2016
Dreamfarm is an Australian kitchenwares company that we've started carrying here at Redbud House. Nice bright colors, mechanics that are well thought out, and materials that flex and scooch in just the right ways. They offer a wider range of things than we can carry, so take a look at their website for everything you could imagine. They have some really fun videos to watch, as well.
Supoon is their straight-nosed spoon with a silicone bowl that can be used for mixing or on the cooktop. Also has teaspoon and tablespoon markings.
Chopula works great in a frying pan. Stiff enough to chop things up in one direction, but still flexible enough to slide under the fluffiest pancake.
Garject is a fantastic self-cleaning garlic press.
And last, but certainly not least, Scizza, a scissors-type pizza cutter that's so much easier to use than the standard wheel cutter.
Happy 4th of July! July 04 2016
Always ready for a summer party here at Redbud House!
Wool Spinning on Sundays June 29 2016
Last Sunday of every month, we always have a group of spinners bring their portable wheels to show off their work in front of our shop. Stop by and they'll give you a hands-on tutorial.
Hon Alumni March 18 2016
When you have friends that you've known for more years than anyone would care to admit, it's a safe bet that a visit will be fun. We first got to know each other while working at Cafe Hon in Baltimore, and still try to get together year after year.
And sometimes things get a bit crazy!
Always glad to have friends keeping in touch.
Snow! January 24 2016
Yes, it snows in Pennsylvania. And when it snows you have to shovel. Here's what it looked like last winter.
And this year it got a little deeper.
Of course, Rose is more than capable of handling situations like this. (Well, perhaps there was a snowplow involved as well.)
Best looking tree in New Oxford October 23 2015
It's a pleasure having this maple just out our front door. Great fall color year after year.
New Oxford 59th Annual Antique Market May 31 2015Stop by and visit Redbud House during the up-coming 59th Annual Antique Market on Saturday, June 20. Market day has been a great tradition here in New Oxford, PA for generations of antique enthusiasts. At least 100 antique, craft, and food vendors will be set up around the square and streets nearby. Things start at 8:00 in the morning, so get there early for the best finds. It's always a hot day, so visit Redbud House for a bit of air conditioning!
Local eggs October 03 2014
Much of cooking is all about flavor, but appearances count for a lot as well. A good friend and neighbor brought by these beautiful eggs fresh from her own chickens. Always fun to see eggs this colorful, and taste them afterwards.
